Steam condensers are a mechanical device that converts low-pressure exhaust steam from a turbine into water.

steam condensers, a type of heat exchanger that is enclosed in a vessel, converts low-pressure exhaust steam from a turbine into water.

A steam condenser, a mechanical device that condenses exhaust steam from a turbine into water, is called a steam condenser. This is done with cooling water from the cooling tower. To increase efficiency, the steam condenser pressure is kept below atmospheric pressure. This is often used to reduce the backpressure at the turbine's end.

The Steam Condenser's Functions

The steam condenser receives exhaust steam from one end, and then contacts the cooling water from the cooling tower on its other side. The Steam Condenser is an essential product of industrial tools in power plants.

There are many steam condensers available for sale on Linquip.

A steam condenser serves one purpose:

To maintain a low pressure (below atmospheric pressure at the steam turbine end) and to maximize energy production and decrease steam consumption in a power plant,

  • The hot well is supplied with pure water. A boiler feed pump pumps the water to the boiler.
  • You can increase the heat transfer rate of steam by removing non-condensable gasses from it.

What is Steam Condensed?

When there is no heat present, the water molecules in the bottle start to condense. Matter transforms from a gas into a liquid. The molecules have a smaller area and exert less pressure.

Steam Condenser

The steam condenser takes in exhaust steam from one side and comes into contact with the cooling water flowing within it from the cooling tower.

The low-pressure steam condenses when it comes into contact with the cool water and becomes water. It is attached to both the condensation extraction pump and air extraction pump. Condensate is extracted from steam by condensate extract pump.

The condenser's air is extracted by the air extraction pump and a vacuum is created within it. The vacuum created helps to circulate cooling water and condensate downstream.
