If the spill recently happened, let the wax finish cooling. Peel off as much skin as you can before you begin. By doing this, the amount of scraping will be reduced.

Start scraping the wax off in the direction of the wood grain with a spoon, spatula, or one edge of a bank card. Use the sharp point of the spoon or the curved side of the bank card to assist remove the wax if the wood has deep gaps or fractures.

Push the wax shards carefully onto a sheet of paper using the spoon or bank card in a broom-and-dustpan motion when they start to gather.

After the wax has been erased, rub the affected area with a clean, lint-free cloth. When you are happy with the outcome, apply furniture polish and integrate it in with the cloth.

  • Heating and Wiping

In a nutshell, this approach includes slowly softening the wax. If the wax becomes sufficiently pliable, you may wipe it off with a napkin or absorb it with a clean towel to prevent harming your furniture.

There are two alternative approaches to using this technique. One entails using a hair dryer, the other using an iron on garments.

  • Hair dryer

A minimum of 3 inches should separate the afflicted region from the hair dryer. Point the dryer at the wax on a low heat.

Repeat applying heat and wiping the area until all of the wax has been eliminated. After treating the affected area, apply furniture polish and buff it with a clean, lint-free cloth.

  • Iron

Tune the iron to the lowest steam-free level. Apply three or more layers of thick paper towels to the afflicted area. Over the towels, lay a clean, lint-free, iron-safe cloth or washcloth. For 3 to 5 seconds, apply pressure with the iron on the cloth over the afflicted area.

To check if the wax seeped into the towels, pull back the cloth. Otherwise, you might have to add a further moment or increase the heat a little.
